2010 Special Events!
In efforts to meet the wide range of Austin SCBWI writerly/illustratorly needs, three special events have been planned for 2010. Mark your calendars and, once regsitration becomes open, sign up right away. These events will fill up fast!
For the Advanced Writer (those that are published and listed, agented, have earned an MFA in writing or equivalent advanced training, or won major writing awards) on Saturday, May 15th a one-day Master Class/Salon with highly acclaimed author Carol-Lynch Williams. Event specifics and registration information will be posted on the website Wednesday, Feb. 10. Spaces will be limited!
For everyone, writers of all genres and illustrators, Saturday, July 10th, a Humor Writing Workshop with humorist Mary Jo Pehl has been planned. Hilarious and warm, Mary Jo has a knack for illuminating aspects of humor in everyday events and will show us how to get that funny stuff in print. Billed as a Picture Book/Chapter Book Party, writers and illustrators, mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct. 9th when the fabulous Lisa Wheeler, joined by Stephanie Greene, and Sarah Sullivan will be presenting and critiquing your fine manuscripts. We’re excited to announce that a component specially planned for illustrators is being planned for this event, as well. Keep your eyes on the website.
