The 2010 Summer National Conference…where to begin?

Posted August 13, 2010 in Member News

How would one describe their first experience at an SCBWI National Conference, you ask?  Unforgettable. Colossal! Magnificent! Inspirational! Stupendous!  And down-right great fun.

Where else in the world can you rub shoulders with the very best in business at a moment’s whim? Be it M.T. Anderson or Arthur Levine or David Diaz or Marion Dane Bauer? Where else can you laugh and dance, boldly howl at the moon, and make new friends that will surely last a lifetime? Where else can you attend an international event dedicated to keeping the artist within you validated and inspired? That place is LA at the SCBWI National Conference, my friend…and next year we need YOU there!

Day and night Carmen Oliver, our beloved ARA, diligently updated her blog, packing it with pictures and juicy bits of information you’ll surely want to know about.  Rather than recreating the blogroll, I’ve linked her posts to this webpage. Click on the link. Scroll upwards to read her posts. Savor them and then plan to save your nickels to join us next year!

The only person missing in those great pictures is YOU!

Next summer SCBWI will be celebrating  40 years of supporting writers and illustrators all around the globe. Y’all, we have to gather up a huge Austin contingency. Don’t you agree?
