Even though our next regional conference Something for Everyone is months away (Feb 17-19, 2012), we’re in preparation to make it even better than last year. Now that the faculty has been chosen and registrations are pouring in, we’re beginning to concentrate on the finer details, one of those being the Silent Auction.

Your Austin SCBWI committee has brainstormed new ideas to compliment this year’s auction table but we need your help and creativity to take it to new heights. It takes a community. And last year’s silent auction was a huge success in part to you so please consider donating one or more of the following items.

• Restaurant and/or retailer gift cards for our Gift Card Tree
• A white elephant item for our Kitschy Korner (think fuzzy toilet owl seat cover or giant rabbit vacuum cleaner decoration – the weirder the better!)
• A themed basket created by your critique group or writing buds (contact Shelli Cornellison at shellicornelison@gmail.com to sign-up)
• Original piece of art (Remember: Gene Brenek’s Bluebird of Crappiness or David Diaz’s Illustrated Door)
• A new or gently used children’s book for our Mystery Box.
• Your creative talent! Pick up your mirror to decorate at the Nov. 12^th meeting. We can’t wait to see what you dream up!
