Updates – The Bastrop Outreach, On-line Store, and the Regional Conference
First of all, the Bastrop Book Drive is coming along famously! Daily, UPS or FedEx drivers have been dropping off book donations sent from thoughtful people all over the US. Last weekend the generous folks from the Brazos Valley SCBWI Chapter not only donated funds, but gathered up three huge boxes of books for the cause! Also SCBWI Germany and SCBWI Missouri are sending books our way, as well. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! You still have a chance to join in the joy of giving. Reserve a spot at the annual Holiday Hoedown being held from 5:30 to 7:30 on Thursday, December 8th at Opal Divine’s Marina by contacting Deb via the RA Contact Page. Bring a book or a monetary donation along with you as we celebrate the spirit of the season with our creative ASBCWI family. While there is no fee to attend the party, a reservation is mandatory for attending. Together we’ll help heal the fire-ravaged community of Bastrop, Texas through the love and joy of Kid Lit!
Great news! The On-line Store function of our website has been restored! Thank you, Erik Kuntz. You may now resume registering for the 2012 Regional Conference: Something for Everybody via the web…and not a moment too soon! The Early Bird cut-off date – December 1st – is just around the corner. The manuscript submission cut-off date – December 15th – will be here before you know it! There are still spaces available for critiques with agent Jill Corcoran, as well as a number of esteemed guests and our local shining stars. Although, post-December 15th you can still sign up for the conference, small group intensives, and the Full-Day YA Intensive (space permitting) at a higher rate, why wait to register, especially with the On-line Store back in action? Come on! Join us in both of these great events. It won’t be the same without YOU! |
