Showcase your school and library presentations in the SCBWI Authors and Illustrators Speakers Sourcebook. The sourcebooks is a fantastic way Texas Chapter SCBWI PALto get your name and book information in front of hundreds of librarians in Texas. 

The Sourcebook is a full color, professionally printed booklet. Each author/illustrator will have the choice of a 1/3 or full page ad with his or her information, a photo and one book cover featured (full page ads may feature additional book covers).

Advertizing fees are 1/3 Page ad – $45 and Full Page ad – $100.

The Annual TLA Convention lives up to the adage that “everything is big in Texas .”  Attendance consistently numbers more than 7,000 librarians and exhibitors. This conference attracts all types of librarians, but mostly those from school and public libraries. TLA offers unparalleled exposure and opportunities to market your books and services to the library community. That being said, you will want to be included in this publication…for sure.

And, to further generate enthusiam and attendance possibility, our Chapter is hosting a raffle to win a free registration to the LA conference. Here’s how it works:

•  Raffle tickets (1 for $2.00 or 3 for $5.00) will be sold beginning now and until our Regional Conference in February.
• Tickets will be during monthly meetings and through the mail (See link below).
• All funds generated go directly to the LA National Raffle Fund.
• The amount of money generated will define the number of Conference registrations we’ll be able to sponsor.
• Winners will be announced during our Regional Conference.

50 critiques are available with our faculty for authors and illustrators. 

Authors can enter for a chance to have their work reviewed by the editors during the First Pages session. Our editors will give initial reactions to the first page of a manuscript or a synopsis.  Our Editors Day staff will pick 10 random entries for this session.

We are looking to redo our hand-out coloring books.Our first was a bilingual trip to the zoo, and our current is “Daddy Monster” by a local dad/author, but supplies are running low and we are ready to change it up again.These books are part of our giveaway items that we bring with us to community/family events we help to sponsor, such as Children’s Day Art Park happening right now. We also give away the current issue of the magazine, tattoos, bookmarks, and advertisers’ offers.[I'm looking for someone] to write a short short something for the coloring book, to be illustrated by our own Aaron Romo, who does the hilarious illos in the My Life as a Parent section of the magazine.
