2003 — Began writing career, writing fiction (mostly) for ages 4 and up.
2005 — Completed Institute of Children’s Literature “Writing for Children & Teenagers”; began work on fantasy novel for teen girls (LINDENWOOD).
2006 — “Out in the Cold” (contemporary Christian fiction story), My Friend magazine (December); attended Highlights Foundation Writers Workshop in Chautauqua, NY.
2007 — Family moved from California (San Francisco Bay Area) to Texas; joined Austin Chapter SCBWI.
2008 — attended Highlights Foundation Writers Workshop in Chautauqua, NY.
2009 — Completed Institute of Children’s Literature “Writing & Selling Children’s Books; finished novel (LINDENWOOD); received third place award for non-fiction article “From Volcano to Lake” and honorable mention for IF I COULD (picture book), Writers-Editors Network International contest; attended Writing from the Heart Retreat (Highlights Foundation Founders Workshop) and the Oregon Coast Children’s Book Writers’ Workshop.
2010 — First picture book scheduled for publication (see below); beginning to write for adults. See website for more information; blog is to be created soon. |
