After the thrill of the news of my impending GrandMotherHood subsided, my next thought was “What will she call me? I’m not gonna be called GrandMaw! ” The name didn’t fit me. Nor does it fit the many other modern g-moms with playful personalities who often spend their time in gyms getting toned or racing to a meeting in their spikey shoes, designer bags and frequent flyer miles. So I created a rhyming picture book with charming grandmother names for us to read to our wee ones. “Who’s Your Gigi? (Grandma, Grannie, Gran)” is looking for an illustrator to capture the spirit and spunk of the New Grandmother. Contact me if you are interested or know someone who is.
