About Me

I research and report on clean energy developments, teach preschool, and am one of four founding Partners at INKUBATE (http://www.inkubate.com), an online showcase for writers and the editors and agents they want to reach.

With interests ranging from clean-tech innovation and urban sustainability to developing memorable environmental experiences for children, I satisfy my need-to-know curiosity by regularly interviewing and reporting on what scientists, scholars, economists and business experts are doing to influence environmental policy.

My favorite article was published on http://www.EnergyBoom.com following the BP Deepwater Macando Well Blowout. In “What’s the Value of the Gulf Anyway?” I quote one of my students’ favorite books to make a point:

In Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, the Truffula Trees are decimated by a greedy industrialist known as the “Once-ler.” The Lorax complains that a “Gluppity Glup” and a “Shloppily Shlop” are harming the Humming Fish. The headstrong and reckless Once-ler destroys the natural resources his business relies on and in the end is faced with a disintegrating landscape devoid of life.

The practice of seeking out and interviewing pioneering, influential people is one of my favorite hobbies and forms the core research for my articles and for my lyrical picture book manuscripts.

I’m working on a new article featuring the groundbreaking legal work of Polly Higgins (U.K), Mary Wood (U.S.) and Matt Pawa (U.S.) whose collective research – although independent – reveals that trust law may provide the modern remedy required to protect the atmosphere from unmitigated man-made climate damage.

In addition to teaching and writing on energy and the environment, and serving as the contact for Writer Relations at INKUBATE, I’m a contributing staff writer for EnergyBoom and a member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Writers’ League of Texas, Society of Environmental Journalists, National Association of Science Writers and the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance.

I can be reached at 214.505.9953.

Published Books

I’ve published several clean energy/climate articles online (EnergyBoom; DailyClimate) and am working to have my first children’s book published. It is a lyrical science picture book manuscript about wind power.

Something Cool About Me

I am co-founder of INKUBATE (dot) com – the new online home for writers and the publishers and agents they want to reach! I write a regular blog for INKUBATE and recently featured 12-x published children’s book author, Dianna Hutts Aston! Dianna is also the beautiful face of INKUBATE’S Tour.
