Jody (behind the horse and grandaughter Jayna) writes for kids from age six through high school. Her youngest characters are the Koots--Abe, Ben, Gabe, Toby, and Ty--second graders who like to solve mysteries in Perfection Learning books. Her oldest characters are Levi the pirate and Beto the rock artist who reside in Stone Arch books. Jody has written many nonfiction books, too. Recent books include Troodon, the smartest dinosaur;Yankee Whalers; and books about Redwood and Death Valley National Parks.
