Martha Hannah, a nationally acclaimed performing artist, author, illustrator, educator and arts-in-education advocate, has delighted students and adults with performances on many arts commissions’ touring rosters for well over twenty years. Martha’s sensational new book, THE GHOST OF HAMPTON COURT, has evoked such glowing accolades as “What a marvelous book! I love it so much!”, “Really clever and hilarious!” and “My students were crazy about it.” By creating her character, the hilarious Maid Martha, she’s brought the Middle Ages and Renaissance to life and shared her story THE GHOST OF HAMPTON COURT with countless enthusiastic audiences.
Martha Hannah and illustrator and author, Larry Dowell are a creative husband wife team who share a close collaboration on all their projects. Their fascination with ghost stories and the ‘unseen’ has taken them down many a dimly lit back street during evening ghost tours. They’ve traveled across Europe, through castles and cathedrals, down ancient streets and roads and canals, collecting historical tidbits, creative inspiration and Medieval trivia. They own and manage the independent publishing company, CicadaSun.
Martha and Larry live in Austin, Texas with their talented lab mix, Goldie, who knows well how to do a ‘one-eyed wink’.
