Love brought Kristene to Texas where she has spent the last 24 years happily married to her husband Les. Little did he know, she was bringing a tremendous passion for art with her. Fortunately, it blended perfectly with his passion for music.

She spends most of her time listening to his crooning while illustrating, painting and working in a wide variety of art mediums. She is an accomplished scrimshander who has competed on an international level. Her murals adorn walls at schools, friends’ houses and of course her own house.

She and her husband Les have one daughter. The three of them enjoyed studying martial arts together as a family until their home life resembled something out of a Pink Panther movie. (NOT NOW KATO!) They all eventually earned Black Belts.

Kristene works for the Austin Independent School District. She spends her summers on her parents’ ranch where she hones her cowgirl skills. Their colorful longhorns give her plenty of material for 13 years of cartoon calendars, which have been published as “Longhorns and Short Tales,” a ranch humor book. She has illustrated four children’s’ books featuring their longhorns. She is currently writing and illustrating picture books based on science cycles.
