Lupita's Papalote (which means kite), the author's first bilingual picture book, was published by Arte Publico Press. Her second book in the same genre tentatively titled, The Woodcutter's Gift, will be coming out next year. Lupe also enjoys writing poetry and some of her poems have been published in anthologies. She was one of the featured authors at the 2003 Texas Book Festival. Lupe lives in San Antonio, home of the Spurs and the beautiful downtown riverwalk. She is presently working on a middle grade novel.
