Lupe Ruiz-Flores is the author of the bilingual picture book, LUPITA’S PAPALOTE. The book, published by Arte Público Press and illustrated by Pauline Rodriguez Howard, is about a little girl and her magic kite. Her second book in the same genre, THE WOODCUTTER’S GIFT/EL REGALO DEL LENADOR, illustrated by Elaine Jerome, will be out in fall of 2007.
Some of her poetry has been published in anthologies in Voices Along the River, the San Antonio-Express News, and Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review. She was one of the featured authors at the Texas Book Festival in Austin in 2003. The author lives in San Antonio, home of the Spurs and the beautiful downtown riverwalk. She is presently working on a middle grade novel.
