Liz Garton Scanlon’s first book, "A Sock is a Pocket for your Toes: A Pocket Book," was illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser (for which Liz is deeply grateful) and published by HarperCollins in the spring of 2004. The book was a Junior Library Guild pick, a Children’s Book of the Month Club selection, and is a Children’s Crown Gallery finalist this year. Liz lives in Austin where she reads, writes and teaches. She makes her home with her husband and two inspiring young daughters.
