Larry Dowell, a gifted and talented artist, has designed and produced award-winning national and international projects in print, graphic design, illustration, multi-media and web design. His richly detailed European paintings have won awards in multi-state juried competitions. Larry has been ranked with “the best of the best working landscape painters.” His book of poetry, THE ORCHARD WALL was called “a brilliantly written and exquisitely produced reflection on life’s sensual cycle.” Larry’s exquisite illustrations for ‘THE GHOST OF HAMPTON COURT vividly capture the tapestry of medieval life. They are described as “magnificent” and “absolutely wonderful”, “capturing a moodiness that permeates the book”.

Larry Dowell and author and illustrator, Martha Hannah are a creative husband wife team who share a close collaboration on all their projects. Their fascination with ghost stories and the ‘unseen’ has taken them down many a dimly lit back street during evening ghost tours. They’ve traveled across Europe, through castles and cathedrals, down ancient streets and roads and canals, collecting historical tidbits, creative inspiration and Medieval trivia. They own and manage the independent publishing company, CicadaSun.

Martha and Larry live in Austin, Texas with their talented lab mix, Goldie, who knows well how to do a ‘one-eyed wink’.
